The Faculty of Economics looks for enthusiastic, positive, dynamic students who have the academic foundation necessary for study upon entrance and aim to study economics, as well as hope to fulfill their responsibility to society in the future.

Department of Economics

The Department of Economics seeks students who desire to expand their capabilities through the study of economics. The Department seeks students who desire to become leaders that can think from multiple perspectives and take action by forecasting economic movement from various social activities and events. The Department seeks students that desire to contribute to society and become successful in the local companies and local entities by using the knowledge acquired through their education.

Department of Business Administration

The Department of Business Administration seeks students who desire to learn about how to make appropriate management decisions and to promote appropriate corporate activity. The Department seeks students that desire to learn about actual corporate activities such as production and sales and how people, things, money and information are used and function in the process.

Department of Sport Business Administration

The Department of Sport Business Administration seeks students that are interested in sports in general and desire to attain management skills to work and become successful in the field of sports business.

Faculty of Media Business

The Faculty of Media Business looks for enthusiastic, positive, dynamic students who have the academic foundation necessary for study upon entrance and aim to learn to apply knowledge about media and information in business, as well as hope to fulfill their responsibility to society in the future.

Department for Information Systems in Business

The Department of Business Information seeks students who are interested in how to use IT in business using big data and the internet. The Department seeks students that desire to attain skills in digital mining and developing business concepts in order to operate businesses strategically.

Department of Media Business

The Department of Media Business seeks students that are interested in newspaper, publication, broadcasting, advertising, internet, and SNS, and desire to work at local media-related companies and those who desire to work in the field of public relations or advertising using the various knowledge and skills related to media.

Hiroshima University of Economics, Graduate School of Economics

The Master’s Program (including the Undergraduate Five-year Master’s Program*) seeks students who have potential scholarship and strong interest in research to become educators or advanced professionals in the field of economics.

The Doctoral Program seeks students who have potential in scholarship and abilities in advancing research in becoming educators in the field of economics.

*Undergraduate Five-year Master’s Program: Students who are successful in passing the examination for this program in their third year are allowed to take graduate courses (of the Master’s Program) during their fourth year. After graduating from the undergraduate program and passing the entrance examination for the Graduate School of Economics, the credits approved in the previous year are added to the first year Graduate Master’s Program which will enable the student to attain a Master’s Degree (in Economics) in one year.
