On Friday, March 6, the 9th Globalization SD Training Session was held in the Presentation Court on the 7th floor of Meitokukan. This annual training session is designed to foster a global mindset among university staff. Staff members from various departments participate each year, and the session provides information and knowledge to help them develop cross-cultural adaptability from a variety of perspectives.

The session was led by Professor Harada, Director of the Center for International Education Exchange, and was attended by 20 staff members this year. The first half of the session focused on the theme “A Changing World and How to Respond: The Future Sustainability of Universities.” Professor Harada began by sharing the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in the global era, drawing on his extensive experience and insights. This was followed by a discussion on how to enhance university administration and leadership to effectively respond to the changes of the global era.
In the second half, participants divided into four groups. Building on the knowledge provided by Professor Harada in the first half, staff members from each department shared their views on “international educational exchange” and discussed initiatives to make the university a more attractive environment.
In the end, each group proposed several ideas that would make the university more “attractive” for future students, making it a meaningful SD training session.
