On November 9, 2024, Short-Term Exchange Program students changed into traditional kimono and participated in a tea ceremony at Shukkeien, a beautiful Japanese garden in Hiroshima City.
The students were able to feel the depth of Japanese culture and deepen their understanding of Japanese culture through the delicate manners and spirit of the tea ceremony. The international students also enjoyed the rare experience of preparing the tea.
Japanese students participated as interpreters, providing an opportunity to deepen exchanges with the international students. They assisted in explaining the history and etiquette of the Japanese tea ceremony. They were able to exchange opinions about each other's culture and build friendships.
Through this cross-cultural experience, the international students became more interested in Japanese traditions and history and were motivated to learn more. This will be an unforgettable memory for the international students.
